About
Althea Mallee

Based in South Australia, Althea Mallee is a contemporary Australian artist specialising in large-scale murals and fine art. Her work brings vibrant storytelling to public spaces, blending cultural heritage, connection to nature, and mythology with modern global themes.

Althea’s artistic journey has taken her across the globe, including a pivotal cultural exchange in Mongolia through a scholarship from Adelaide College of the Arts. This experience deepened her passion for preserving ancient narratives while exploring their relevance in today’s rapidly evolving society. Most recently, Althea spent two transformative years in Italy, where she immersed herself in the rich art, culture, and landscapes of Europe. This period infused her work with fresh inspiration, merging timeless European artistry with her distinct Australian roots.

Her murals reflect a powerful harmony between east and west—timeless fables meet modern ideals, creating a visual bridge between tradition and innovation. With a signature style that balances hyperrealism and artistic symbolism, Althea transforms blank walls into captivating, thought-provoking masterpieces. Her works celebrate multiculturalism, inspire connection, and breathe life into shared spaces.

From city streets to businesses and residential properties, Althea’s murals not only enhance environments but also tell stories that resonate with people from all walks of life. Showcased globally in galleries, private collections, and public spaces, her art is both impactful and enduring.

Now back in South Australia, Althea brings her unique vision to local communities, offering businesses, councils, schools, and more the opportunity to stand out, connect with their audiences, and leave a lasting impression through the power of mural art.
